Hi I’m Afian 👋. I’m the Founder/CEO of Afi Labs, a software consultancy that builds custom software solutions for transportation and logistics companies. Previously, I was a research fellow at the Future Cities Lab of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH Zurich) and a senior research engineer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS). In Fall 2013 and Summer 2014 I was a visiting scholar at the the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL).

My graduate studies were at MIT, supervised by Prof Daniela Rus in the department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and Prof Amedeo Odoni of the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics. My general research interests involve applying computer science and operations research methods to solve large scale transportation problems.

Cool Fact: I’m a recipient of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Director’s Coin (proof).
